Beaumont helps Strikers start WBBL in style

Kent captain Tammy Beaumont helped Adelaide Strikers to back-to-back wins against Hobart Hurricanes to start the third Women’s Big Bash in Australia.

The 26-year-old scored 43 off 39 balls in Saturday’s opening win as the Strikers posted 183-3 in a comfortable 45-run win.

Their perfect start continued with a 83-run victory inspired by a century from former Kent all-rounder Suzie Bates as Beaumotn was bowled by left-arm seamer Veronica Pyke for 3.

The Strikers are back in action next weekend against Melbourne Renegades on Saturday and Sunday at Glenelg.
