Boys performance award winners 2017

Kent’s boys celebrated a successful season by receiving the 2017 performance awards at The Spitfire Ground on Monday.

All-rounder Calum Haggett presented trophies to the best batsmen, bowlers and fielders in each age group.

Notable achievements include the Under 11s victory at the Taunton Festival, where the Under 13 squad finished second.

The Under 14s won promotion to Division A for 2018 with opener Ben Carpenter Friend the top-scorer in the country with 572 runs at average of 143 alongside partner Fiontan Logan who scored 432 runs at average of 86.

The Under 15s went unbeaten this summer and won the national Final of the “B” Division against Leicestershire with four players selected for Bunbury Trials –  Ben Mills, Harry Houllion, Joe Gordan, George Ealham

Three Under 17s also received national recognition with Tom Davis, Taylor Chandler and Jordan Cox selected for the London & East squad at the national Super 4 tournament.

Isaac Dilkes hit 189 not out for the Under-17 boys, the highest score for a Kent age group side this summer.

U17 players and academy scholars Ollie Hills and Jordan Cox also played for the Kent Second XI.

The club thanked One Ashford Hospital for their sponsorship of the Kent Cricket Boys Performance Programme and Kent Reliance for their support of the academy programme.
