Business After 5 function attracts more than 70 people

The Club hosted a Business After 5 function at St Lawrence Ground Canterbury on Wednesday night.

A gathering of more than 70 people, representing many of the leading organisations in the county, heard CEO Jamie Clifford update them on the goals and strategies for the Clubs growth in 2011, the redevelopment project and how Kent“s businesses could play a part in future success. Commercial Director Pat Mellsop introduced the Club“s new Business opportunities including; Commercial Partnerships, the launch of the Club“s new business club – Team Kent – and the structure of Hospitality packages for 2011.

Representatives from current sponsors Shepherd Neame, ECL Telecom and Samurai were presented with their Sponsor Plaques. The Club“s partnership with Demelza was acknowledged, but unfortunately they were unable to attend. New Club Sponsor the Deeson Group and, Dynamix – First XI members of Team Kent – were also presented official plaques.

Commenting on the gathering Mr Clifford noted that, “This is a very exciting time for the Club and I want Kent businesses to share in it. With the continued support of our current Sponsors and the addition of new business partners we are looking forward to a bright future. The redevelopment of the ground and restructuring of our commercial opportunities will provide the basis from which to continue to compete at the highest level.”

Further Kent business community gatherings are planned for the New Year.
