CAN YOU BOWL FASTER THAN A COUNTY CRICKETER?

Tuesday 19th April 2011

Members of the public will get their chance to test their skills against the County’s top cricketers at the Players’ Open Day at the St Lawrence Ground, this Easter Monday. The Kent County Cricket Club Players’ Open Day precedes their first LV=County Championship match against Gloucestershire on Tuesday 26April and the opening Clydesdale Bank 40 over fixture the following Sunday (1st May).

The Open Day is designed to allow young and old to meet their County Players and to participate in a range of fun activities. All the games and giveaways are free with the day coinciding with the release of the new Club poster. Team Captain, Rob Key, commented that, ‘the boys are all looking forward to the day and see it as a great opportunity to meet our supporters and have some fun. We are all working hard on and off the field to make this a memorable year for Kent Cricket and we are hopeful of sunny weather and a good turnout.’

The day starts at 1.00pm and concludes at 3.00pm. As well as testing your ‘speed’ against the Kent quickies, you will be able to also be able to gauge your catching, fielding and batting skills against the pros. Complimentary bbq sausages as well as Nando’s Peri Peri Chicken will be available to those attending.
