Canterbury Festival’s Spiegeltent is coming to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

Canterbury Festival, Kent’s International Arts Festival, is celebrating its 30th birthday this year by introducing a dedicated Festival venue from 19 October – 2 November; the Spiegeltent – based at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

This 1920s travelling dance hall will play host to up to five events per day, including live music, comedy, family friendly shows, circus and much more.

Focussing on some of the music the Spiegeltent has to offer; 19th October sees four piece Chris Jagger’s Atcha kicking off the music offerings at the Spiegeltent who take influence from blues, country and rock, and even coining their own genre of ‘zydo-funk’.

Senegal musician Doudou Cissoko and his band are taking to the Spiegeltent stage on 31sst October – his music will get you up on your feet dancing around the world in no time.

The final band to perform at this year’s Festival isLúnasa, one of the finest traditional Irish instrumental bands in existence. If you’re looking for an event to bring your family along to, then look no further thanAfrican storytelling with Celso Paco on 31st October.
