Men’s First Team

One of the highlights of this year’s Canterbury Cricket Week Ladies’ Day was the ‘Fashion on the Outfield’ competition.

On the second day of the Championship fixture against Surrey, the usually hat competition was this year replaced with Fashion on the Outfield. Judging was centred on the entire outfit and the ladies did not disappoint. Fenwick of Canterbury’s Julie Prior and Catherine Gaskin lent their expertise as judges for the competition, joined by Kent Cricket president John Shepherd’s wife, Sue.

This year’s winners were:

1st Prize: Bonnie Bruton, from the Kent and Canterbury Club marquee (middle in photo)

2nd Prize: Pamela Holmes, Kent Cricket life member (left in photo)

3rd Prize: Judy Ufton, from the president’s marquee (right in photo)

4th Prize: Jenny Collier from the president’s marquee

Canterbury High Street retailer, Fenwick provided first prize for Fashion on the Outfield; a £500 personal shopping experience in their fashion, accessories and cosmetics departments. Second prize was a stylish two night break in Edinburgh, including flights and bed and breakfast accommodation at the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, courtesy of Manston, Kent’s International Airport and Flybe. Local Jeweller, and official supplier to Kent Cricket, Fitzgerald Jewellers, supplied a £250 voucher for the lucky third prize winner. Fourth prize was a massage at Ashford International Hotel.
