Kent vice captain Martin van Jaarsveld (pictured)has shown his all-round qualities in recent matches as thelatest FTI FPt20 MVP rankings show.

In the absence of skipper Rob Key (broken finger), van Jaarsveld is captaining the side. In recent weeks, the top-order bat has also been called upon to utilise his off-spin with James Tredwell is away on international duty with England. Jarre currently lies sixth in the list of top economy rates for the 2010 FPt20 campaign, conceding on average just 6.25 runs per-over. His best figures came against the Hampshire Royals at Canterbury, at the beginning of July, when he took 3-25 in the Spitfires“ 45-run defeat.

The 36 year-old has also impressed with the bat as he sneaks onto the list of most fours hit in FP t20 cricket so far this season. He has found the rope 42 times and he takes up tenth position on the list. The right-hander currently tops the Spitfires run scoring charts. His 402 runs, at an average of 30.92, continue to impress during the group stages.
