Nottinghamshire v Kent
Clydesdale Bank 40 – Group C
Saturday, 8 May
1.45pm start

Kent return to CB40 action on Saturday when they travel to Trent Bridge to take on Nottinghamshire.

After last week“s abandonment, against Durham at Canterbury, and the defeat to Warwickshire the week before, Rob Key“s men are still searching for their first win in the new competition and currently find themselves third from bottom of the Group C table, one place below Nottinghamshire.

Chris Read“s side opened their campaign with a defeat as Leicestershire claimed victory by 47 runs in a high-scoring encounter at Grace Road.

They then recorded a win last week in a rain affected game against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl. With the match reduced to 24 overs per side, Notts batted first and put a score of 180-7 on the board. Cameo knocks from Hashim Amla (33), Alex Hales (41) and Read (30) all contributed to build their competitive total. The home side were never really in the hunt, despite Liam Dawson“s unbeaten 47 from 28 balls, as Steven Mullaney“s 3-24 helped Nottinghamshire ease to a 35 run victory.

Both sides will be desperate to take the points to keep alive their dreams of reaching the need the semi-final stages of the Clydesdale Bank 40.

Tickets will be available on the gate. If you are not going to the east midlands then the game is being shown live on Sky Sports 2 and in high definition on Sky Sports HD2. The coverage starts at 1.30pm.
