Chris Evans brings star-studded charity cricket match to the St Lawrence Ground

Chris Evans led a charity cricket match at the St Lawrence Ground on Thursday, in aid of Children in Need and featuring a number of sporting stars and celebrities.

For the second year, Chris Evans chose to make a private booking, in order to hold his Radio 2 cricket match at the St Lawrence Ground, this year bringing with him sporting stars including former England Captain Andrew Strauss, Andrew Flintoff and Michael Vaughan.

The afternoon was the result of a winning bid of more than £100,000 made during a Children in Need auction on Chris Evans' Radio 2 show earlier this year.

The winning bidder and their friends and familywere joined by cricketers and celebrities for a match against the legendary Bunbury's.

DJand The One Show presenter Chris Evans commented at the St Lawrence Ground on Thursday; "We started this here last year and everybody was so nice we just had to come back.

"The big gossip in the dressing room is all about Strictly Come Dancing – Darren Gough is giving tips, and the fact that Andrew Strauss is here is great."

Former football manager, Barry Fry also joined the fundraising eventand commented: "I have played for the Bunbury's for 18 years and I always will support the events because they really support a lot of charities and communities.

"My dad was actually born in Dover so there is a bit of the Kent genes in me so it is lovely to be here."
