New Girl’s Area Training Hubs to Launch

Kent Cricket are excited to announce, that this year the Girls Area Cricket Programme will be returning with a new regional hub-based-training format.

There has been significant growth in the numbers of players trialling for the Kent Girl’s County teams in recent years. We are consistently looking at ways to ensure that we are providing the best possible provision to support player development and it is felt that now is the right time to implement the new format Girls Area Cricket Programme in Kent.

The format for the Girl’s Area Programme will include two Regional Training Hubs running across the winter, one in the North and one in the South of the county. These will act as Performance Training Hubs, in which there will be two groups (U12-U14 & U15-U18). Fortnightly sessions will be run by Kent Cricket Coaches and players will be invited to attend these sessions based on the following criteria:

“Kent Cricket Coaches deem the player to be of a level currently exceeding club cricket and with further support, a realistic chance of challenging for a place in the County Age Group squads in the future”

Invites will be sent in late October 2021, after the conclusion of the Kent Girl’s County Age Group Trials for the 2021-22 season. For any further queries about the programme, please contact the Girl’s Area Programme lead, David Hathrill
