The ECB Indoor 6-a-side Club Championship took place at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Sunday 12th March. Clubs that are champions of the respective leagues and regional playoff matches made the trip to the Spitfire Ground for the Regional Finals for the competition, with the winners of the Finals progressing to the National Finals Day to be held at Lord’s.

In the first Semi Final the University of Kent CC (Kent winners) played against Purley on Thames CC (Berkshire winners). Purley won the toss and elected to field, and UoK set 116 for 2, with Liam Durrant, Euan Munday and Lewis White all retiring not out in the innings passing 25 runs each. Purley’s Patrick Allen was the pick of the bowlers taking 1 for 19 off 3 overs. In reply, Andrew Clarke was the only Purley batter that made a score, scoring 31 runs. With Purley being bowled out for 50, UoK won by a margin of 66 runs.

St George’s Uni were restricted to 78 for 4 from their 12 overs. Waltham chased down the target losing only two wickets inside 9 overs, with Shahbaz Khan top scoring with 27.

The Final was set. UoK would take on Waltham CC with the victors advancing to the National Finals at Lord’s. UoK won the toss and elected to field. Again, Liam Durrant and Lewis White were in the runs, scoring 30 and 25, respectively. UoK set 92 for 5 from their 12 overs, meaning that Waltham required 93 runs to win and progress to the Lord’s final.
