Cricket Wins Gold at BT London Live Olympics Venue

On Tuesday 7th August, Kent Cricket Board led the Cricket 'Have a Go' Sports Arena at BT London Live (Victoria Park) in partnership with ECB. The event was a fantastic example of how inclusive cricket is for all the community with such a diverse range of players taking part.

Byron Gould and Alex Farmer ran the day's events with skill drills, short sided games and coaching points for everyone who wanted to give cricket a go.

The Arena was a fantastic setting on a raised stage with a grandstand filled with spectators, a brass band nearby providing the music and the Ferris wheel, zip wire and Olympic big screens providing attractions not usually seen at a cricket ground.

Players were lured into the Arena by the fast paced, fun nature of the games, with girls and boys agedfive and overenjoying the action – but also many adults and parents involved in the family pitch. The main rule of the day was if you hit it out of the ground you are out!
