Daniel Bell-Drummond included in IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year

Kent batter Daniel Bell-Drummond has been selected in the IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year after his record-breaking season for Kent in 2023.

The IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year has been selected by the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by Argentex, to provide the best statistical XI from this season’s domestic men’s cricket.

Bell-Drummond had a stand-out year for the county, hitting a career-best 300*, becoming the third man to reach a triple hundred for Kent, against Northamptonshire in June – four days after hitting his second career T20 century, at home to Middlesex in the Vitality Blast.

The team, selected on Monday 25 September ahead of the last round of LV= Insurance County Championship matches sees Liam Dawson captain as he sat top of the domestic MVP with an imposing 617 MVP points. The Hampshire spinner has also been nominated for the cinch PCA Men’s Player of the Year award.

IG is a leading trading and investing provider and an official partner of England Cricket. Their side contains three faces from last year’s team in Sam Cook, James Vince and Simon Harmer, who incredibly makes the team for the fifth successive year. Middlesex’s Ryan Higgins and Durham’s Alex Lees make the side following brilliant seasons and are also nominated for the cinch PCA Men’s Player of the Year award.

Somerset youngster James Rew enters the team as wicketkeeper having scored more than 1,000 First-Class runs this season. The 19-year-old is also nominated for the cinch PCA Men’s Young Player of the Year award.

With the Men’s Overall Domestic MVP selecting a well-balanced team, MVP points across the LV= Insurance County Championship, Vitality Blast, The Hundred and Metro Bank One Day Cup are taken into account.

The cinch PCA Awards takes place at The Troxy on Monday 2 October where the best performing players in domestic and international cricket will be recognised.

All players selected in the 2023 IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year will received a personalised winner’s medal from Mappin & Webb.
