Denly and Tredwell named in provisional England World t20 squad

Kent duo Joe Denly (pictured)and James Tredwell have been selected by England in a provisional 30-man squad for the ICC World Twenty20.

Both are currently in Bangladesh with England’s 50-over team.

The 30-man squad includes five uncapped players; seamers Steven Finn and Chris Woakes, all-rounder Peter Trego, batsman Michael Lumb and left-arm spin bowler David Wainwright.

The final squad, which will be whittled down to 15, will be announced before the end of the month.

Paul Collingwood will lead the side in the Caribbean, with the tournament taking place between 30 April and the 16 of May.
Commenting on the inclusion of Denly and Tredwell, Kent team director, Paul Farbrace, said: “We are naturally very pleased that two of our players have been named in the initial squad for the World Twenty20. Both are talented cricketers and it is good for Kent that we have two players in contention for such a prestigious event.”
