Kent batsman Joe Denly has been awarded a White Ball Central Contract by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the 2020 season.
ECB White Ball Contracts are handed out to players likely to heavily feature in limited overs competition for England during a twelve-month period.
As England gear up for the World T20 in Australia starting in October next year, several England internationals have now been awarded Central Contracts to allow the ECB to manage player workload ahead of the tournament.
In addition to Test and White Ball Central Contracts, selectors can award a limited number of Increment Contracts.
Denly, Surrey’s Rory Burns and Somerset’s Jack Leach have been awarded Increment contracts in relation to 2018-19 in recognition of their performances for the team through the contract year just finishing.
The contracts, which cover a 12-month period commencing 1 October 2019, have been awarded to the following players:
James Anderson (Lancashire), Jofra Archer (Sussex), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Rory Burns (Surrey), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Sam Curran (Surrey), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire).
