Fabian Cowdrey impressed with bat and ball for Western Suburbs against Penrith in the Sydney First Grade.

He smashed 85 off 99 balls at the top of the order but received little support as his side crumbled to 174 all out.

Earlier, he took 1/35 in ten overs as their opponents amassed 211 for nine to win on first innings.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore from Worcestershire scored 47 for Penrith.

In Queensland, Sam Northeast’s Sunshine Coast Scorchers dismissed South Brisbane for 203.

The Kent captain took two catches and is set to bat in the reply next Saturday (16 January) as the Scorchers resume on six for one.
