Former Kent bowler Geoff Smith has died at the age of 90.

The right-arm seamer passed away earlier this month and was Kent’s oldest surviving capped player.

He played 42 matches between 1951 and 1958, taking 165 first-class wickets at an average of 22.82 and was capped in 1953.

Born in Huddersfield in 1925, he played a few matches for Surrey’s second XI before joining Kent.
