Former West Indies Captain Jimmy Adams appointed Head Coach of Kent Cricket

Following an extensive recruitment and selection process,which attracted applicants from around the world, Kent County Cricket Club today announced that Jimmy Adams will be the Club’s new Head Coach.

Jimmy Adams played 54 Test matches and 127 One Day Internationals for the West Indies during a nine year international career, which culminated with his appointment as Captain. Adams retired from Test cricket with a batting average of 41.26 and a highest Test score of 208 not out.

Since retirement from cricket in 2004, Adams has coached the West Indies Under 19 team and most recently has been Technical Director of Jamaica Cricket. He is also the President of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Association (FICA) a position he has held since 2008.

Jimmy Adams commented on his appointment; “I am delighted to be given this opportunity as Head Coach at Kent Cricket. They are a county with a proud history and tradition. I look forward to working towards further success in the year to come and can’t wait to get started.”

Adams takes up the post in early February.
