Important Member Information: Club Extends Vitality Blast & Royal London Cup Announcements

The Club has today confirmed that the announcement of Members’ ballot results for Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup competitions for all priority groups will be delayed.

The Club has seen exceptional demand from Members and Season Ticket holders for tickets for both white-ball competitions.

The decision to delay the announcement has been made in the light of continued uncertainty about the capacity at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence and The County Ground, Beckenham after 21 June, when Step 4 of the Roadmap out of Lockdown is due to commence.

With the impact of the Indian variant still being assessed, it is anticipated that Government guidance providing further clarification on the release of Lockdown restrictions as part of the Step 4 of the Roadmap will not be provided before mid-June.

Chief Executive, Simon Storey, said, “With demand in the Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup ballots already exceeding current capacity, and the administration team focusing on supporting Members and Season Ticket holders with their LV= Insurance County Championship ticket claims, we have decided to delay the announcement.

“Whilst we know Members and Season Ticket holders are keen to know if they can watch live cricket, our decision will give Members and Season Ticket holders more time to claim their tickets once the announcement is made.

“We are trying our best to make things as simple as possible in extraordinary circumstances. Our new Membership and Ticket system has made a big difference in helping us demonstrate to the Public Health Authorities that we can manage and, if necessary, track and trace spectators, but some members are needing extra help to navigate the new system. We are very conscious that numbered seating, COVID protocol and e-tickets are all new measures On balance, the majority of Members are deciding that the chance of some cricket, is better than no cricket, in spite of all the added complications.

“The Venue Operations team is also working hard to explore all options to increase capacity safely and whilst we will have to await the Prime Minister’s decision around Step 4 in the Roadmap, we hope this work will result in further capacity being released.”

To ensure that as many Members’ and Season Ticket Holders are able to access the tickets they have requested, the new deadlines are as follows:
