Joe Denly drafted in PSL

Kent batsman Joe Denly has been called up to play for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.

The 31-year-old will join the Kings after the FGS Plant Tour in Antigua after being selected in the injury replacement draft.

Denly has impressed this winter in T20 spells with Bangladesh Premier League finalists Dhaka Dynamites and a four-match spell with Sydney Sixers to earn a call to replace Sussex’s Luke Wright.

The Kings feature England white-ball skipper Eoin Morgan, Sussex bowler Tymal Mills and Pakistan stars Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam.

The squad will be coached by Mickey Arthur and former Kent all-rounder Azhar Mahmood.

The group stage takes place in Dubai and Sharjah from 22 February to 16 March with the final taking place in Karachi on 25 March.
