Kent Cricket girls squad raises £700 for Comic Relief

Kent Cricket's Under 11 girls squad raised more than £700 as part of a Red Nose Day 2015 charity fundraiser.

Coach David Sear invited players to make their faces funny for money at training this week with voluntary donations to Comic Relief.

David said: "We know there are so many sponsored events these days and asking people to support you can be difficult and, to be honest, we were not expecting to raise vast sums of money.

"However, we have been staggered by the total of the contributions so far – more than £700 and there are still monies to be collected at our floodlit match on Red Nose Day."

Kent Cricket stars will be attending Chaucer Direct on Red Nose Day to support volunteers taking phone donations for the BBC appeal which raised more than £75 million for good causes in 2013.
