Kent Cricket partners with Girlguiding Kent Counties to increase participation

Kent Cricket and Girlguiding Kent Counties are delighted to announce a partnership to offer cricket as an activity for the girls involved in Girlguiding in Kent.
This partnership will be multi-faceted, with the aim of giving girls as much opportunity as possible to pick up a bat and ball.
The opportunities include:
- Kent Cricket offering coach development evenings for Girlguiding Leaders so they can deliver basic cricket sessions in their weekly meeting. These are to be held at The County Ground, Beckenham on Monday 15 April and The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury on Wednesday 17 April. If you’re a Girlguiding unit and wish to sign up for one of these sessions please do so below:
- An activity booklet to help provide basic rule information and context to cricket. A Kent Cricket Girlguiding badge will be awarded upon completion. Included in this is research on local clubs and where they can play or participate in national programmes.
- A one-off hour-long ‘All Stars Cricket’ style taster session so girls can have a bit more ‘formal’ cricket exposure.
The aim of this programme is to recruit new girls into the game, specifically national programmes and club cricket.
The sessions will all be running from April onwards and Kent Cricket’s Community Team is encouraging clubs and club coaches to deliver these taster sessions.
