Kent Cricket win ECB commercial award

Kent Cricket was recognised with a ECB Business of Cricket Award for the unification of grassroots and elite cricket in the county.

The unification of the county cricket club and board in one organisation impressed the judges to land the Commercial Partnership Award.

The bid focussed on the internal transformation which has helped boost participation, create efficiencies and attract new sponsors and partners.

Kent Cricket community cricket director Andy Griffiths said: “Bringing the delivery of cricket at all levels in the county into one organisation made business sense but we hope to see sporting advantages with a clear pathway from community and club cricket into our elite performance squads.

“The aim is to take the game into every community and support players, coaches and volunteers who enjoy the game.

“I’d like to thank our partners Chance to Shine and Lord’s Taverners as well as our community sponsors Countrystyle Recycling, Dyno Plumbing, Kent Reliance, One Ashford Hospital, Southern Water and St Lawrence College.”
