Kent cricketers visit schools ahead of Tunbridge Wells Cricket Festival

Kent cricketers James Tredwell, Ash Shaw and BrendanNashwere out and about in Tunbridge Wells yesterday, visiting several schools in the lead up to the 100th Tunbridge Wells Cricket Festival, accompanied by Kent Cricket mascot, Victa.

Ash Shaw took part in a training session with children from Skinner's School in St John's Road which included a challenging wicket practice competition withVicta! Ash and Victa also attended St Marks CEP School in Ramslye Road, while James Tredwell and Brendan Nash offered children at Pembury School advice on their batting and bowling during a training afternoon at the Lower Green Road school.

Kent Cricket Communications Manager, Sarah Morecombe who accompanied the cricketers on the day, commented; "The children and players had a great day. This has been an excellent opportunity for us to get the players out and about in the community, and what better timethan ahead of such a significant week for Kent Cricket. The children enjoyed taking advice from the players with some of the teachers telling us their pupils had never been so enthusiastic about sport, which is fantastic."
