Kent Girls selected for England Women’s Development Programme U19 Winter Training Squad

Friday 11th October 2013

Kent County Cricket Club is delighted to confirm that Grace Gibbs and Charlotte Pape have both been selected for the England Women’s Development Programme U19 Winter Training Squad.

The winter Programme is predominantly based at the National Cricket Performance Centre (NCPC), Loughborough, and will be delivered by high quality coaches and sport science and medicine specialists.

The EWDP U19 will be led by Jonathan Finch as Head Coach, with the support structures in place for cricketers to receive an individualised programme, aimed at developing players as individuals across all areas of their game.

The Programme will start with an induction and physical screening day which will underpin the strength and conditioning delivery through the programme and is consistent with all squads across the England Women's Cricket Pathway.

Head of Women's Cricket, Clare Connor commented “The England Women’s Development Programme is in place to help develop the skills, characteristics and behaviours associated with world's best cricketers, to ensure England continue to win key series and ICC global events.”

Earlier this week we also confirmed that Kent Academy scholar Grace Gibbs has been named in a 15-player squad for England Women's U19s inaugural tour of South Africa next month – click here to read this announcement
