Kent Spitfires squad to face Hampshire at Canterbury on Thursday

Kent Spitfires have named an unchanged 12-man squad for the visit of Hampshire on Thursday (2pm) for the opening 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

After a washout on Sunday and a narrow defeat on Tuesday, Kent can bounce back with a run of three games of Canterbury with Sussex Sharks on Sunday and Lancashire Lightning next Saturday (August 8) the other visitors.

Head coach Jimmy Adams said: "The players are pretty anxious to continue both their success in the shorter format of the NatWest T20 Blast, but also to extend their good run in reaching last year’s Royal London One-Day Cup semi-final.

"We start the schedule knowing we have enough potential match-winners which, together with our combined experiences from last year, could count for quite a bit.

"Another element to that is quickly making a judgement call on the pitch, such as what may or may not be a par score for any one particular wicket and what sort of total we should be aiming for."

Kent Spitfires squad:17 Sam Northeast (c), 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 6 Joe Denly, 30 Fabian Cowdrey, 3 Darren Stevens, 10 Alex Blake, 20 Sam Billings, 26 Matt Coles, 15 James Tredwell, 8 Mitch Claydon, 14 Matt Hunn, 5 Ivan Thomas.

Hampshire squad:Jimmy Adams, Michael Carberry, James Vince (c), Adam Wheater, Joe Gatting, Will Smith, Gareth Berg, Yasir Arafat, Chris Wood, Danny Briggs, Liam Dawson, Mason Crane, Fidel Edwards.

Live commentary is available on BBC Radio Kent via the BBC Sport website.
