Kent Spitfires to play Lancashire in NatWest T20 Blast Quarter Final

Kent Spitfires are set to play Lancashire or Nottinghamshire in the NatWest Blast T20 Quarter Finals due to a potential scheduling issue.

Current regulations state that the group winners play a home tie against the team who finished fourth in the opposing group between 12 and 15 August.

Kent are due to host the Kia Women’s Ashes Test from 11-14 August and can therefore only host a quarter final on Saturday 15 August.

Northamptonshire meanwhile are playing Australia in a tour match from 14-16 August and could not therefore fulfil an away quarter at Canterbury at the same time on Saturday 15 August.

However, if Kent (who have finished top of South group) are scheduled to play Northants (if they finish 4th in North group) in the quarter-finals, the regulations will be amended as both teams face a scheduling clash.

Therefore if this scenario applies, Kent will play the team finishing third in the North group and second in the South Group will play fourth in the North.

This amendment to the current regulations will only apply if Northants qualify in fourth place in the Northern Group.

Kent's potential opponents are Lancashire Lightning or Nottinghamshire Outlaws who lie with fourth and fifth respectively on 14 points, separated by net run rate.

Weather permitting, Lancashire take on Worcestershire Rapids away and Notts travel to Leicestershire Foxes.
