Kent womenís team announce new coaching structure for 2010

Monday 4th January 2010

The Kent Cricket Board today announced the formation of a new Kent women“s coaching team, in readiness for the defence of their 2010 ECB County Championship campaign.

With the likelihood of radical changes to this year“s competition, the decision was taken to appoint a coaching team with international playing experience. England captain Charlotte Edwards will take the lead role. She will be supported by her Kent and England team-mate, Lydia Greenway, and former New Zealand international Emily Drumm.

The successful cricketing exploits of Charlotte and Lydia are well known but Emily also has a tremendous international record, having played in over 100 One Day International matches for her country.

Jason Weaver, Kent Cricket Board“s high performance manager said: This is an exciting opportunity for Charlotte, Lydia and Emily. All three have fantastic experience and the rest of the team will benefit from their undoubted expertise. We enjoyed an excellent season in 2009 and this new enhancement to our coaching structure shows that we are fully committed to building on that.”
