Men’s First Team

Kent 266 & 230 beat Surrey 127 & 104 by 265 runs

An impressive unbeaten century from Rob Key, and five wickets taken by James Tredwellled Kent to a convincing 265 run victory in their LV=CC match against Surrey.

Key’s tenacious, unbeaten 110, his 20th century for Kent at the St Lawrence ground, included just seven fours and came off 202 balls.

Surrey were chasing 370 for victory, but collapsed in 28.2 overs and inside two hours with 104. Rory Hamilton-Brown (40) and Tom Maynard (28 not out) were the only Surrey batters of note, as Darren Stevens and Tredwell ripped through the Surrey line-up, resulting in Surrey’s worst Championship total for ten years.

Stevens took 4 for 49, finishing with career best figures of 11 for 70 for the match, and Tredwell took 5 for 35, taking Kent to victory inside three days.
