Lady Kingsdown re-appointed Kent President for 2016

Kent County Cricket Club today announced thatRose Leigh-Pemberton, Lady Kingsdown OBE has been reappointed as President of Kent for 2016.

In a departure from what has become the norm she will hold the office for two years, the post having previously been filled on an annual basis.

The 2015 President, a Club Member for several decades, was the first female figurehead in the club's 146-year history.

Lady Kingsdown, the wife of former Kent Cricket President and Bank of England governor Lord Kingsdown, said:“I was absolutely thrilled to be appointed President in 2015.

"It was such an honour and a role I have thoroughly enjoyed. To be asked to return for a second year in 2016 is more than I could ever have hoped for. I look forward to 2016 with a huge amount of enthusiasm and I hope that it brings the Club much success."

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman George Kennedy CBE said: “Lady Rose has been an excellent President. She has done much to raise the profile of the Club this year.

"I am delighted that she has accepted the Club’s unanimous invitation to continue in the role for another year."

The re-appointment of Lady Kingsdown as President will be formally made at the Kent Cricket Annual General Meeting, scheduled for spring 2016.
