Local funeral directors host funeral planning day at St Lawrence Cricket Ground

Monday 2nd April 2012

Local funeral directors, Dignity are holding a funeral planning day for local people interested in learning about the benefits of Dignity Funeral Plans. The funeral planning day will be held on Thursday 12th April between 13.00and 19.00pm in the Harris Room atthe St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. Free parking is available at the Cricket ground, and the friendly and approachable Dignity staff will be available to answer any questions that people may have.

Warren Hanson, Dignity’s Area Manager for Kentcommented; “More and more people are pre-arranging their funerals these days. People often purchase a funeral plan to make sure their loved ones don’t have to make decisions about their funeral arrangements at what may be a very difficult time for them. Other people purchase a Guaranteed Funeral Plan from us so that they know that their funeral is paid for at today’s prices, regardless of how far in the future the service takes place. This means that in these times of financial uncertainty, their loved ones are saved from paying for the funeral.”

When you take out a funeral plan with Dignity you can pay either with a lump sum or spread the cost over 12 or up to 60 months. There are no health restrictions, and acceptance is guaranteed for everyone 50 years old or over. Those attending the funeral planning day at the Kent County Cricket ground will also receive a discount voucher entitling them to £50 off the Dignity Funeral Plan, making it even more affordable to plan for the future.

Funeral costs have been rising year on year due to the increase in fees paid on the client’s behalf to third parties such as the crematorium or ministers and the increase in the cost of utility bills and petrol. The average funeral in 2011 cost £3,368. If costs continue to rise at the same rate, they are predicted to increase to £4,751 in 2016. With a funeral plan from Dignity, you will have the reassurance that the cost of the arrangements in the plan are guaranteed to be covered in full, no matter how much prices might rise in the future.

Dignity is a British company that has funeral directors in towns and cities all across the UK.
