LV=CC: Kent v Hampshire day three match report

Wednesday 8th September 2010

Kent“s cricketers go into the final day of their LV= County Championship match against Hampshire with it all to do after the visitors batted well at Canterbury on day three.

Dominic Cork“s side will resume on 272 for six – a lead of 294. The innings got off to a solid start with Jimmy Adams and former Kent batsman Michael Carberry putting on 92, for the opening wicket, before the spinners got to work. Firstly Malinga Bandara trapped Adams in front on 52 and Carberry then followed in the same manner, after a patient knock of 56. Australian Phil Hughes was next man out, LBW to James Tredwell for 38, before Darren Stevens (pictured) picked up three wickets with his highly effective medium-pace. Play was called off prematurely at 5pm because of persistent rain with batsman James Vince 38 not out and Cork alongside him.

Kent will now hope for early wickets and better weather as they try to force a win from their final home match of the season. Please come along on the final day“s play at the St Lawrence Ground and show your support to Rob Key and his team.
