Top-of-the-table Kent Women travel to the north to face both Yorkshire and Lancashire this Bank Holiday weekend looking to extend their perfect record in the Royal London Women’s County Championship this season and potentially pick up some silverware.

Lancashire and Yorkshire both currently sit in second and third position in the table respectively. The Red Rose county are currently 12 points adrift of Kent in a league where 10 points are awarded for a win, with four batting and four bowling bonus points on offer based on performance.

If ‘The Horses’ win both matches, they will secure the Division One title for the first time since the 2016 season.

Kent captain Tammy Beaumont currently sits second in the competition’s batting rankings with 221 runs in four matches, including 87 against Warwickshire in the second game of the season.

Left-arm seamer Tash Farrant is at present the county’s top wicket taker with nine wickets in four matches, including 4/26 against Surrey.

Last time out, Kent made it four wins out of four with a three-wicket win over Hampshire Women at Polo Farm in Canterbury.

England international Fran Wilson hit an imperious 74 runs from 75 deliveries including 13 fours, and Maxine Blythin finished Kent’s run chase 51* as the hosts chased down Hampshire’s first innings total of 233/6 in 47.4 overs.

Farrant was once again in the wickets for Kent with figures of 10-1-33-2, with medium pacer Penfold also taking 2/30 in six overs.

The game against Lancashire is hosted by Newton Le Willows CC: Crow Lane, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 9XE

Kent Women’s final match in this competition will be a local derby clash against Sussex hosted at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence in Canterbury on Sunday 2nd June, starting at 11am.

Buy tickets in advance or purchase tickets on the gate for £5 – entry is free for ALL Kent members and package holders and this fixture does not count towards one day’s worth of cricket in the Six Pack package.

The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence in Canterbury will be hosting a Women’s One Day International between Cricket World Cup Champions England and World T20 Champions Australia on Sunday 7th July, as part of the 2019 Women’s Ashes series (2-31 July).
