Match Preview: Sussex Sharks vs. Kent Spitfires

The Spitfires head to the south coast on Friday night to take on local rivals Sussex Sharks at the 1st Central County Ground, Hove.

Just over 24 hours since Kent’s  28-run win over Middlesex at Lord’s, the Spitfires go to the seaside looking to make it a historic six wins from six matches in the Vitality Blast, a feat they have never achieved before.

At the ‘Home of Cricket’, a dazzling century stand between Alex Blake and Heino Kuhn paved the way for Kent to secure victory and achieve their best ever start to the Vitality Blast and keep their 100 per cent record in the South Group intact. 

Kent have named an unchanged squad from last night’s win in the capital, whilst Sam Billings (shoulder) and Joe Denly (England) remain unavailable for selection.

Alex Blake and Mohammad Nabi now sit joint top of Kent’s six-hitting charts with nine apiece, Blake smashing five yesterday evening.

Hardus Viljoen has now taken 11 wickets in five matches at an average of just 11.45.
