The South Asian Cricket Academy, who have been playing county Second teams, throughout the season, in all formats of the game, beat an inexperienced Kent Second Eleven, by four wickets, in a friendly 50 Over match, at the County Ground, Beckenham.

There were no contracted players in the Kent side, who were captained by Gareth Severin, who is Hayes Cricket club’s overseas player, in the Kent Cricket League.

Batting first, Kent Seconds made 250 for 9, from their 50 overs, recovering from being 110 for 7 at one stage. There were two half century partnerships for the eighth and tenth wickets, with trialist, Daniel O’Driscoll, who formerly played for Middlesex, 90 not out off 106 deliveries, with eight fours.

Kyme Tahirkheli, playing for Kent against his own side, made 38. Yadvinder Singh 4 for 49, Adam Patel 3 for 49.

The Academy side won the match with five overs to spare, 251 for 6, Jakob Bhula 52, Zen Malik 53, Amrit Basra 43, Will Prideaux, who plays for Minster (Sheppey), in the Kent League 2 for 46.

The Kent Second team are involved in another 50 over Friendly today, July 28, at the County Ground, Beckenham, when they are likely to be able to field a stronger side against their opponents, Essex Seconds.
