Match Report: Middlesex vs. Kent
No play was possible at Merchant Taylors’ School as wet weather got the better of Kent & Middlesex’s three-day pre-season friendly in Hertfordshire.
Due to persistent rainfall overnight and this morning, the ground is saturated & the umpires along with the groundstaff have deemed the ground to be unfit.
In the meantime, Kent’s travelling squad has been utilising a marquee at the site to continue their pre-season preparations, ahead of the first Men’s match of the 2023 season against Northamptonshire at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence beginning on Thursday 6 April.

Kent will next face Essex in another three-day, red-ball friendly at The Spitfire Ground from 29 – 31 March, with free entry for all & no ticket needed.

Kent Spitfires’ T20 opener for 2023 is against Gloucestershire at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury on Wednesday 24 May – entry to all scheduled T20 home matches is included in Kent Cricket Memberships, on sale now.
Members do not need to pre-book their space at T20 matches as per last season – entry will be gained by scanning a valid 2023 Kent Cricket Membership card at the gate.
