Despite an innings of 79, from Harry Finch, and 33 by Ben Compton, in Kent Second Eleven’s 150 for 6 total, off 20 overs, in their South Group T20 match, against Surrey Seconds, at New Malden, the home side were able to reach their winning target 154 for 4, with an over to spare, to give them a six wicket victory.

Finch hit nine fours and two sixes, before being run out, and Compton had five boundaries in his innings, but the rest of the batters were unable to get the better of some tight bowling by Dan Worrall 2 for 17, and Yousef Majid 2 for 34, by the home side.
Surrey’s victory was built around an innings of 66, with two sixes and six fours, by wicket-keeper, Josh Blake, and skipper Ben Geddes 31, who posted a half century partnership in 35 deliveries for the third wicket, and timed their chase to perfection. Jas Singh, was the pick of the Kent bowlers with 2 for 21.
Kent Seconds play the final two matches in this seasons T20 competition, with a game against Middlesex Seconds, at Enfield Cricket Club, tomorrow (Wednesday), 31 May, and finish with the return fixture against Surrey, at Polo Farm, Canterbury, on Thursday this week, 1 June.
