Match Report: Sussex Sharks vs. Kent Spitfires

Kent Spitfires have moved into top position of the South Group of the Vitality Blast after gaining a point due to no play against Sussex Sharks at The 1st Central County Ground, Hove.

Umpires Neil Mallender and Gary Pratt made their decision two hours before the scheduled 19:00 start because of a wet outfield. Moments later there was more heavy rain.

It means more frustration for Sussex, who started their South Group campaign with three wins but have completed just one of their six subsequent matches, when they lost to Gloucestershire on Friday.

Kent Spitfires’ next fixture is the resumption of the oldest rivalry in county cricket, against Surrey, on Friday.
