Wednesday 7th September 2011

Men’s First Team

ECB confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the LV=County Championship match between Kent and Glamorgan on 12th to 15th September at the St Lawrence Ground will be played as a day/night match in white clothing with a pink ball.

The hours of play will be 2.00pm – 9.00pm each day, with the usual 30 minutes available on each of the first three days to make up for any time lost on that day.

The floodlights will be turned on at 5.30pm each day, or earlier if required, should natural light deteriorate.

Kent County Cricket Club have welcomed the announcement, with Chairman George Kennedy CBE commenting; “we are thrilled to be the first county to host a Championship match under floodlights. It is an exciting development for the game and all eyes will be on Canterbury next week to see how it goes.”
