Mike Gatting signs up for One Day, One Game Conference

Kent Cricket Board are pleased to announce that Mike Gatting, former England International and current Managing Director of Cricket Partnerships at the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed his attendance at the One Game, One Day Conference.

The Conference is due to take place from 10am to 3pm at the St Lawrence Ground on Saturday 23rd March, and Mike will be a member of the Q & A panel during the afternoon session alongside; Jamie Clifford, Chief Executive of Kent Cricket and Chairman of the KCB, Jimmy Adams, former West Indies Cricket Team Captain and now Kent Head Coach, Charlotte Edwards, England and Kent Women’s Captain and Sam Billings, former Kent Young Cricketer and now 1st XI professional at Kent County Cricket Club.

Other recently confirmed attendees include Councillor Heather Taylor (the Sheriff of Canterbury) and companies such as Heineken (who will deliver a workshop on ‘How to Pour a Good Beer!’) and Rigby Taylor.

An England and Wales Cricket Board campaign, the ‘One Game’ initiative aims to ensure that the game of cricket is open to as many people as possible, regardless of age, race, ability or gender. Embracing the One Game campaign, the One Day, One Game Conference aims to provide entertainment and information for all those who are involved in the game at every level, including players, coaches, volunteers, young leaders, spectators, umpires, scorers, groundsmen, club treasurers, bar stewards, schools and teachers. The day brings together a variety of speakers and practical presentations from the professional and recreational sides of the game of Cricket.

In addition to workshops and practical sessions there will also be a Market Place where companies will have trade stands providing, amongst other things money saving and fund raising advice, water management services from a partner of Kent Cricket Board Southern Water, Equipment from Hell4Leather and the Kent Cricket Supporters’ Club.

Raffle prizes for the day include a line marking machine, kindly donated by Rigby Taylor, a cricket bat provided by Hell4Leather and a pair of tickets to a County Championship Game at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury.
