O’Riordan skippers side in Second XI Friendly
Kent all-rounder Marcus O’Riordan scored a second innings half century, 59, with a six and six boundaries, in a drawn Second XI three day friendly, between a joint Kent/Essex Second XI and the South Asian Cricket Academy, at Billericay.

Set the improbable target of scoring 325 for victory, off just 34 overs, the SACA side were 19 for 0 off 3.1 overs, when rain and bad light ended the match.

The Combined XI declared their first innings on 244 for 7, Ben Allison 62 not out, Jaydn Denly 38 not out, Luc Benkenstein 59, Sanaullah Khan 3 for 32.
The South Asian Cricket Academy made 235 for 8 declared, in their first innings, nine runs behind, Arad Shetty 67, with seven fours, and a six, Aaron Beard 3 for 57, Hamidullah Qadri 2 for 32. Grant Stewart conceded just 12 runs from 10 overs, half of which were maidens.
As well as O’Riordan’s half century in the Essex/Kent second innings, of 316 for 7 declared, there was an excellent innings, an undefeated century, 109 not out off 124 deliveries, with 11 fours and two sixes from Joshua Richards.

Kent Second XI’s next match is a four day Second XI Championship fixture against Middlesex Seconds, at Polo Farm, Canterbury, starting on Tuesday 30 April.
