Going the extra mile: The University of Kent

The University of Kent has been doing whatever it can across its many departments to help out during these changing times. Our latest good news stories so far include:

·       Staff from the School of Computing, School of Architecture and Planning and the School of Engineering and Digital Arts have so far designed and 3D printed 300 face masks for Pilgrim’s Hospices.

·       The Kent Hospitality Catering team donated their surplus stock to The Trussel Trust’s Dover Food Bank.

·       The Forensic Science team donated their range of personal protective equipment to the Infection Prevention and Control Team at the South East Ambulance Service

·       The School of Biosciences have loaned their molecular biology equipment to NHS labs with 30 academics, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students also volunteering to help perform testing at hospitals in Kent.

·       The School of History have created 13 free history teaching resources aimed at GCSE and A-Level students that are available to download online.

As the University continues to do more, news stories and research pieces will continue to be shared online at: https://www.kent.ac.uk/news/covid19
