Pharon Indoor League Update

Tuesday 3rd December 2013

First honours in the Pharon Indoor League at the Kent Cricket Indoor School go to the junior section at the Nonington Club, who have won the under 15s league by the narrowest of margins.

So little was there to choose between the top four teams that after Nonington had beaten Canterbury A in their final fixture and Broadstairs had survived a fierce challenge from Whitstable, calculators were needed.

Nonington and Broadstairs were level on points, but Nonington's run rate per over (9.99) was superior by 0.41. Both sides had lost only one in eight games.

Street End, whose run rate was the highest (10.62), were third, two points behind Nonington, as were Whitstable (run rate 9.00).

Eight sides, the leading four, plus Chestfield, Canterbury A and B and St Lawrence and Highland Court, now compete in a cup competition with the finals day on 14th December.

The first division of the seniors' league finishes on 12th January to allow champions to take part in the county finals and, hopefully, progress to the regional, then national finals at Lord's in March.

With five games each to play, Street End lead University of Kent by two points. Canterbury, the champions, are two behind the students.
