Men’s First Team

Name, age and role?

Sam Billings, 21, batsman

How did you end up at Kent?

I’ve been a Kent boy since I was about seven and I went through the youth teams at the Club.

Who is the one to watch, why?

It would have to be Daniel Bell-Drummond. He is a class batsman with great hands that he really gets through the ball. He’s quality.

Which ground is your favourite in England, why?

Lord’s. I’ve never played there but it’s the home of cricket. We play Middlesex at Uxbridge thisweek in the FriendsLifet20.

If you could play cricket anywhere in the world, where would it be, why?

Australia has it all. There’s sun, girls and I’d love to play at the MCG.

Who is the last player to buy a round?

Fabian Cowdrey, without a doubt. He said it’s me but it’s him!

Who is the worst dressed?

Darren Stevens dresses as if he’s a teenager but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Mark Davies wears these dodgy cardigans and he looks like he’s from the 60s but the worst dressed is Fabian Cowdrey.

He has these ropey lavender chinos that he wears with a load of other terrible gear. It looks awful.

Who is the messiest in the dressing room?

Sam Northeast. It’s like an absolute bombsite.

Who is the worst room-mate?

Matthew Coles is a horrible human being. He snores, he burps and he’s generally not very nice to share with.

Who is the greatest cricketer you have ever seen?

Sachin Tendulkar.

Who is the greatest that ever lived?

Again, it has to be Sachin Tendulkar.

If you could create the perfect player, whose facets would he have?

My perfect player would have the batting of Tendulkar for a start. Bowling wise he’d be like Muttiah Muralitharan and he’d have the fielding of Jonty Rhodes. The mentality would be that of Chris Gayle because he’s so chilled.
