Pre-season: Important spectator information

Kent’s Men’s First XI will take part in two home pre-season matches as they face Warwickshire and Lancashire as part of their preparation for the 2022 red-ball season this month.

The Club is looking forward to welcoming its Members and supporters back to watch live cricket in 2022 and we’re pleased to be working towards normal capacity for the upcoming season.

Work continues to make sure your visit is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Below is important information regarding both matches, scheduled to be held at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence:


  • Kent vs. Warwickshire – Strictly behind-closed-doors

Mon 21 & Tues 22 March 2022; The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

  • Due to important development work around the ground, including the restoration of the Frank Woolley Stand and replacement of seating in the Colin Cowdrey Stand, this match will take place without any spectators permitted.

  • Kent vs. Lancashire – Limited access permitted

Weds 30 & Thurs 31 March 2022; The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

  • A limited number of spectators will be permitted inside The Spitfire Ground for this match.
  • Free tickets will be able to claim via tickets.kentcricket.co.uk shortly.
  • Membership cards will be posted ahead of this match. If received, Members are asked to bring their Membership cards for entry.
  • Access and seating will only be available via the Northern Bank (in front of Freeman House) and the Underwood & Knott Stand. Spectators will not be permitted access to any other areas of the ground.
    • Gates will open at 10:00, one hour before the start of play each day.
    • Dog will be allowed into the ground for this match on a short lead.
  • The Oriole at The Lime Tree Café will be open for refreshments.
  • The Kent Cricket Shop will not be open during this match.
  • Ongoing construction work will still be taking place in certain areas of the ground during this match.
    • Spectators should be aware of anticipated noise and distractions across both days.
  • Limited ground parking will be available free of charge for all Members and supporters for this match.
    • Windscreens must be covered at all times when sun reflection could interfere with play.
    • New Dover Road Park & Ride will also be in operation by Canterbury City Council. For more information, please click here.

For both matches, testing of live streaming services will be taking place. There will be no commentary for either match.
