Rob Key cricket master class on Sportsround this evening

Friday 8th January 2010

Kent captain Rob Key passes on some of his cricket tips tonight in a special BBC master class for seven schoolchildren from St Peter“s Methodist Primary School in Canterbury.

The Kent skipper, renowned for being a talented and innovative captain, put on several sessions for the children, at the Kent Academy, and passed on advice on a wide variety of batting techniques. The feature will be shown on tonight“s edition of Sportsround, between 6.30 and 6.50pm on the CBBC channel.

Commenting on the day, Key said: “It was fairly challenging for me because the children all had differing levels of ability; some hadn“t even picked up a cricket bat before coming to see us as the St Lawrence Ground. Still, I enjoyed it and hope that the children watching Sportsround will pick up some useful tips.”

Newsround presenter Seema Pathan, pictured talking to Rob, added: “I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Canterbury. Everyone was very welcoming and I certainly picked up some top tips from Rob and his fellow coaches. I“m sure the feature will be well received so I urge all Kent supporters to watch and enjoy this evening!”
