Sam Billings hits winning runs for England Lions

Sam Billings hit the winning runs as England Lions defeated Pakistan A in the first of five one-day internationals in Dubai.

The Kent Cricket Academy graduate played a patient innings, ending on 35 not out from 52 balls as England chased a modest target of 193 with five wickets and 53 balls to spare.

The 24-year-old took a catch off Craig Overton with the gloves as they dismissed the hosts for 192 in 47 overs.

Surrey’s Tom Curran took three wickets with two apiece for Jake Ball, Tom Westley and Overton.

Kent’s Daniel Bell-Drummond did not play.
