Darren Stevens“s fourth championship hundred of the summer coupled with an unbeaten 95 from James Tredwell took Kent into a commanding position come Sunday“s lunch interval at The Nevill.
Responding to Nottinghamshire“s impressive first innings 462, Kent have moved to within 63 runs of parity courtesy of another excellent 105-ball ton from Stevens as he and Tredwell posted a double century partnership for the sixth wicket.
The pair remained relatively untroubled despite steamy, swing-friendly conditions and Stevens in particular cashed in with 17 boundaries on his way to three figures.
Though his scoring rate remained somewhat slower, Tredwell hit nine fours in his 109-ball 50 on his return to the ground where he posted his maiden first-class hundred against Yorkshire in 2007 and by lunch moved to within five of his third hundred for the club.
