Stevens heads out to Zimbabwe to play in their Twenty20 competition

Thursday 11th February 2010

Kent County Cricket Club today announced that all-rounder Darren Stevens has joined the Zimbabwe domestic side Mid West Rhinos for their Twenty20 competition.

Stevens, one of the most successful players in the history of Twenty20 – having won the Cup with both Kent and Leicestershire, was crowned the 2009 T20 MVP after another impressive performance with the bat on finals day last August.

Commenting on the news, Kent“s team director, Paul Farbrace, said: I am pleased that Darren is getting an opportunity to go and play in Zimbabwe. Playing in different parts of the world will only benefit his game and I find it encouraging that more and more overseas teams are recognising his undoubted ability in the shortest format of the game.”
