Stevens set for 300th one-day match at Swansea

Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens could make his 300th appearance in one-day cricket against Glamorgan at Swansea in the Spitfires’ penultimate Royal London One-Day Cup game on Sunday (14 May, 11am).

The 41-year-old made his List A debut in 1997 and scored his last one-day century in Wales at Cardiff in 2015 and will be hoping for a repeat after the long trip to the St Helen’s ground.

Stevens has scored more than 7,000 runs at an average just shy of 30 and taken 140 wickets for Kent, Leicestershire, and England Lions as well as domestic appearances in Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Left-armer Imran Qayyum is included in a 14-man squad to offer an extra spin option and James Harris could face his home county.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings will play for Kent Spitfires before reporting for international duty with England next week to prepare the Royal London one-day series against South Africa, starting on 24 May.

Kent Spitfires squad: 17 Sam Northeast (c), 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 6 Joe Denly, 58 Sean Dickson, 3 Darren Stevens, 10 Alex Blake, 7 Sam Billings (wk), 25 Calum Haggett, 26 Matt Coles, 4 James Harris, 15 James Tredwell, 11 Imran Qayyum, 22 Charlie Hartley, 5 Ivan Thomas.
